Colin Pryce Jones (The Rapiers)
was one such friend. It's only when your are at your lowest that you
discover who your real friends are!
The Rapiers became The Dreamers who, of course, became the backing group for Freddie (Garrity) and the
Dreamers. The world is a better place thanks to Freddie who brought a light hearted, and professional,
contribution to top-ten pop music during the 60's.
Freddie needed a roadie and Gerry needed a job! For six months they travelled everywhere meeting
The Searchers,
Swinging Blue Jeans,
Brian Poole and the Tremeloes and many more. ("Fantastic!").
This was the trigger that Gerry needed. He returned to Wigan, bought a PA system
and became guitar/vocalist Just Gerry. Gerry Eccles became Gerry Sandon
- a tribute to Johnny Sandon and Colin Manley (who wrote Gerry's
favourite beat song "Lies") - So, that's Gerry - TIME SERVED!
